tabloidization of the news media

ı think tabloidization seems structural phenomena at first, but it plays a role changing the content of the news. so ı am opposite of the tabloidization. ı think one of the most obvious reason of this tabloidization is ,as the writer mention, competition between big media companies. one of the most characteristic of the current media industry is this. they may do everything for rating. they especially choose people who has tragic life story or something like that for their programs. or they politicize personal lives. and these programs gain what their producers want. people are influenced by them, even become addicted to them... producers think that -but TRT, NTC, CNBC-e may be excluded- it is better that little attention to politics and the economic related news but more to human interests and entertainment. as we talked for previous topic about media. we were mostly agree that. media should enlighten people, contributes something to them. but it doesn't seem easy with this tabloidiztions.

MEDIA: my relationship with media

what do ı watch on the television? this question is related to my perception about television. ı think there is no definite explanation or aim of the television such that it should educate the people or something like that. there are various types of channels and programs. everybody can find a program that is in his/her interest. ı choose television program according to my mood. they are films, music channels, documentaries, series, some of the discussion programs and programs that introduce us other parts of the world and other people' life( this may be called documentary, too). as you realized that, there are not limited, ı watch almost all types of programs but except some of them such that marriage programs, morning programs( it may be wrong,ı don' t know the actual word) and some contests. ı consume some of those programs such as contest or series to spend the time.(by the way television is used by people mostly to spend the time. because if they have got something to do they do not need to watch) but ı think documentaries are beneficial for me and also it is enjoyable if it is in my interests. for example ı like especially scientific documentaries. as we all know media has huge effect on human beings. ı think it is controversy that if it is harmful for people. in some cases it may be harmful. for instance, media expose people who is criminal of rape. it may be seen that media do this to warn people, ... but after that news, they say that he was punish for a very very short time that released. then, what is the role of media in here. this encourages people who can do the same. if it is not encouraging, it does not frighten them. because there is nothing that they will use at the end of. ı don't like media in terms of such cases. in contrast, media may enlighten society and bring new view points as we all know.

The plug in drug

ı agree with the writer that the family life has changed since the advent of the television. the situation is not like as the past now. many of the family has more than one television and the members of the family watch television(their favorite programs) separately. in addition to this, if they watch together, in the same room, they generally don't share their ideas much, only look at the screen. and people can't devote time to the other activities due to watching TV. for example what do family members do in the evening apart from watching the TV. the answer is very limited. and also children' creativeness diminish because they spend their most of the time in front of the television. but in contrary, TV is a beneficial. it contributes to humans life a lot.. we can say many things about that. but people exaggerate watching television. therefore, this problems occur. the time we devote TV and other things should be balanced.

family film analysis (pursuit of happiness)

the family relationships aren't healthy in the film.parents have trouble in each other while there is no problem between child(Christopher) and the parents. the women(Linda) seems aggressive,hopleless, bored of everything and quite unhappy. in contrast, her husband(Chris) is aware of their bad situation(due to financial problems) but he is not hopeless and doesn't behave her wife badly. eventually, there is no just dominant character in the family but some of the behaviour of Linda seems like that(ı will mention that later). their marriage is not marriage anymore. ındeed there is no relationship in their each other. in this film, the situation of the marriage is linked to the financial problems. it is clearly understood from their speech..it is only based on it.problems occurs from here. Linda makes pressure on Christ by telling him about their debths or something like that instead of giving him morale and showing him that she trusts him and being with him.ı think she should do these because he has already been in trouble due to the financial problems, yet he has hope to do something to be able to make situation better. but she doesn't give him change and respect his ideas. the problems are between the parents.but these have impacts on son.one day she is leaving home. and Christopher starts to live with his father. it is controversial question, which one is better, being with his both parents in unhealthy conditions or away from one of them and be happier.( ı think second one is more logical.) after Linda leaves the home, the only think Christ thinks is , how to deal with his son. because he has a responsibility to his son. so he started to struggle more to be able to make their life better. thanks to his cleverness, ambitiousness and creativeness, he became successful. he pursited the happiness and gained it.

what is marriage for?

in today's world people marry to have children and to have the sexual relationship. these may be without marriage but it doesn't seem good by society because it is perceived as a tradition cultural and even religious event(but the writer doesn't mention that). ın addition to these, laws play a key role in marriage. Because many people want to insure themselves. the writer says "when law and culture retreat from sustaining the marriage idea, individuals cannot create marriage on their own".ı think she meant this.... and the common question is that what the children positions, psychology will be if their parents aren't married. the article include many idea about this issue. it is obvious that marriage is good for children and their growth but if it works properly. otherwıse it gives harm to the children and the man and woman...besides them. not all the marriages have to include baby.if we make a correlation between baby and gay marriage. there is no relation between having a baby and gay marriage.

what are we fighting for

ı think same sex marriages should be legal. because it is related to equality and if we advocate equality, we shoudn't ignore it. a great number of people' concerns about this issue that legitimating these marriages may have negative impact on children or teenagers. number of these marriges will increase and children will emulate.but ı don't agree with this idea. ı thinl people who haven't such tendencies don't emulate.... in addition to that, it isn't perversion or something like that it is mostly inherent and realted to feeling not only matter of choice.

is music piracy stealing

We may say that downloading or sharing music is stealing. But considerable numbers of people don’t care since it doesn’t seem like stealing as shoplifting. I agree with this and in addition to this, every person have a right to watch films, listen to music and to have Access to sources such as software programs. Therefore, people who can’t buy the original ones due to cost may download or share music, film …
